De La Soul, early 1990s.Everett CollectionDe La Soul reportedly will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the hip-hop groups first album by giving away their entire catalog of music for 25 hours.

The trio from Long Island released its debut album 3 Feet High and Rising to both critical and commercial success in 1989. Featuring songs like Me, Myself and I and Buddy, the release is widely considered a quintessential hip hop album, and was selected in 2010 by the Library of Congress as one of 25 albums to be added to The National Recording Registry.
The groups works reportedly will be available on its website We Are De La Soul at 11 a.m. EST today until noon on Feb. 15 on the groups Website We Are De La Soul. The groups Website currently boasts a banner that boasts Check back on Valentines Day at 11 AM EST for some de la love! and links to the Rolling Stone article.
The band told the magazine, Weve been blessed to be in the Library of Congress, but we cant even have our music on iTunes. Weve been working very hard to get that solved. The rapper points to frequent personnel changes at record labels and hazy language in early contracts that have led to long delays in properly clearing the groups catalog.
Representatives for the group did not immediately return a request for comment.
